We often get asked; "What is the difference between incense, and why is there such a difference in price?  For a quick answer, read each description below or look to our INCENSE ARTICLES & FAQ section for many articles that explain many aspects of incense burning, safety considerations, as well as resin incenses and more.

BULK INCENSE: Bulk incense and inexpensive incense is most often made with "fragrance oils,"  and are a combination of natural and artificial scents.  You may find "double-dipped" incense, or sites offering large amount of incense for incredibly low prices, but the bottom line is that you get what you pay for.  Bulk incense made with fragrance oils can be drenched for a week, but they will almost always have that "burning" or "punk" smell that plagues cheap incense.  For this reason, we carry only high quality incense from reputable companies who make it with charcoal sticks and essential oils.

NON-BULK INCENSE: More expensive incense is made with essential oils, resins, and powders.  Many of our branded incenses such as our Tibetan and Japanese incenses, as well as our cone incense are made this way.  Nag Champa incense is made from fragrant champa flowers and other natural herbs from South India. Our Tibetan incense is hand prepared by several monastic orders in Tibet according to fundamental principles of ancient traditional systems of medicine from 2500 years ago.

JAPANESE INCENSE: Our Japanese incense has been chosen from the finest quality manufacturers.  These scents are more pure and more intense than fragrance oil incense.  Then, there's pure resins and Fred Soll's incense.  These are the actual sap or resins from various plants and trees, and makes for very rich incense...
